Treating Panic Disorder
Panic attacks are different from the normal anxiety all people will feel during a stressful event or emergency. Panic attack is a persistent problem that interferes with life. This article will describe panic attack disorder and explain what you can do to stop panic attacks.
Panic attacks can have many different physical symptoms that would normally go along with a fight or flee response in a real emergency. These include a rapid and pounding heart, rapid heart rate, nausea, sweating, light headedness, hot or cold flashes, chest pain, numb hands and feet, tingly or burning skin, irrational thoughts, fear of losing control, and a number of other symptoms. People might think they're having a heart attack, asthma attack or just think something is horribly wrong.
Imagine that you're standing at the check out counter, paying for your groceries, when suddenly you just can't handle it. Your body is hit with an overwhelming physical reaction, forcing you to run from the store, leaving your groceries behind. These feelings (the anxiety attack) can be sudden terror and fear that strike for no reason and without warning.
Most readers probably want to understand the causes and symptoms of anxiety attacks, and also look for ways to stop panic attacks. A good and trusted source of information is The National Institute of Mental Health. This article explains some of their definition of Panic Disorder, also called Anxiety (or Panic) Attack Disorder. Around 19 percent of adults in the US experience a form of anxiety disorder, and 3 percent of adults anxiety attack disorder.
People at Risk for Panic Attack Disorder
People of any age can suffer from this condition, especially with the fast pace of life and many pressures that everyone experiences. The condition does seem to start most often in people ages 17 to 25. Children can even suffer from panic attacks, although it’s harder to catch in children. Once the child is calmed down, people are more likely to assume he is okay. More women have reported suffering from anxiety attacks, but doctors think men are less likely to report attacks.
Treating Panic Disorder
Panic attack disorder can be treated. Too many people live for years not knowing how to stop panic attacks. This condition doesn't go away over time or get better by itself. But there is help! Any person can take control of their life with good information and support. It's time to take action. You can stop panic attacks naturally with therapy and once again enjoy the freedom to go out and enjoy life.
Diabetes: What You Should Know (Will Save You)
I know because my aunt was one such casualty of diabetes. You see, she was diabetic but did not know about it. Not realizing that she was diabetic, she continued eating whatever she liked. There was no diet because of her ignorance. When she developed a sore in her right leg, not knowing that a diabetic had to take additional care where wounds or injuries are concerned, she ignored it as she thought it would heal itself. After all it was just a small sore. It did not go away, and instead, the sore in her leg became a bigger wound. It was later that she decided to visit a doctor. However, it was too late as the wound developed into gangrene. She had to have her leg amputated. Though this happened in the late 1970's, today in the 21st century, people are still as ignorant of diabetes as in the 1970s.
In most developed countries as well as in the third world countries, access to medical doctors are easier than in the 1970s. So there is no excuse whatsoever to be ignorant about this life-threatening disease. Also, there is always the library that a person can turn to for information on diabetes. If you are still unable to obtain the correct information on diabetes, then turn to the Internet to seek for more information. There are a number of websites on diabetes, ranging from diet to controlling diabetes. There is absolutely no excuse not to be well informed about diabetes.
You may ask why am I so concerned about diabetes? Let's put it this way, ought not we be concerned about a silent killer? There has been a lot of publicity on other diseases such as cancer. But there is not much publicity on diabetes. Yes, I did say that there are a number of ways to obtain information on diabetes, but the publicity to make people more aware of diabetes is sadly insufficient. I believed that there should be more publicity to reach out to a larger crowd of people to educate them on the dangers of diabetes.
The problem with diabetes is that living in this modern world, we are bombarded with advertisement on the different types of food and beverages made available to us. As we consumed these processed food and beverages, guess what happened next? Our body system starts to react to the food and beverages. In processed food and beverages, manufacturers being concerned with the bottom line, will continue to add more refined sugar and salt to make the food and beverages tastier. Imagine, when someone kept on consuming all these stuff, especially if it is full of sugar! What will happen next? Our body will start to fail us. It would not be able to make use of the excess sugar and these will just be in our blood. I'm not talking only about the refined sugar. Almost at fault are food items such as refined rice and potatoes that will make our blood sugar rise faster and if not taken care of, will possibly result in diabetes.
The previous paragraph talks about food and beverage laden with sugar and refined carbohydrates. But there is another aspect to this. As we progressed as a modern society, we have lesser time for exercise. Of course, there will be some amongst us who are disciplined to continue with their exercise routine. This is not so for the majority of us. What will happen? Simply this, with the consumption of all those refined food and beverages, coupled with a lack of exercise, we will see more and more people suffering from diabetes. What makes it scary is that most will not be aware that diabetes is within striking distance of them.

5 Things You Need to Know About Using Herbal Supplements
People use herbal supplements to improve general health and to cure a wide variety of ailments. From insomnia to mood swings, there are herbal supplements you can take. Herbal supplements are safe to take, however, some people may encounter allergic reactions when taking certain herbs. Pay attention to how your body responds to each supplement and follow the dosage instructions. Many people experience an improvement of their overall health when using herbal supplements.
2. Interact With Your Doctor, Not Your Prescriptions
Consult with your primary care giver before taking any herbal supplements. Some supplements can interfere with prescription drugs and cause negative interactions. For example, St. John's Wart is an herbal supplement used for mood swings. Although used as a natural anti-depressant, people taking any medication for depression or HIV, or taking blood thinners, oral contraceptives or Tamoxifen should avoid taking this herb. Your caregiver knows your background and what drugs you are already taking, so check with your doctor before using herbal supplements.
3. Research Your Herbs
Research any condition you wish to treat with herbal supplements. For example, you can treat gynecological issues with Black Cohosh or Dong Quai. Doing some research allows you to choose the herbal supplement that best suits your needs and determines whether you can take the herbs together. You can also research the additional benefits of the herb you are taking, such as Black Cohosh to treat kidney disorders and hives. Research is also necessary to determine the recommended daily allowance, or RDA. It is important to follow these guidelines and any recommended dosage instructions given by your caregiver.
4. Keep Them Pure
Purchase your herbal supplements from a reputable vendor. Herbal supplements have become very popular. They are in the news and there are numerous ongoing studies concerning their effectiveness. Some people try to take advantage of this popularity by putting supplements on the market that contain fillers, preservatives, colors or other unnatural substances. Read the labels on all herbal supplements before taking them, and make sure you are using pure, reputable supplements. If you are unsure about a certain supplement, ask you doctor before purchasing.
5. Write It Down
Keep a journal of the supplements you take. List the name of your supplements, the dosages and the frequency in which you take them. Also, list any benefits that you experience, as well as any allergic or negative reactions. This is an excellent way to determine what works for you and what does not. It is also a good reference to use when discussing your health with your primary care giver.

Home Eat Well Diet and Weight Loss Weight Loss Weight Loss Articles 5 Things You Need to Know About Losing Weight After 50
Muscle mass starts to wane in women after the age of 25 to 30 and five years later in men--unless you do something to maintain it. If your life is sedentary, then expect the muscles tone to disappear. It takes more calories to move muscle mass than it does to move fat, so be prepared to watch the pounds mount up as well. Increase your amount of exercise and get your muscles toned, and weight automatically disappears. Well, as long as you don't eat more!
2. Change Those Nasty Habits
Move, move, move is the advice of the day. You may find that you've developed a nasty habit of watching the boob tube after dinner. Stop where you are, put down the remote and go out for a walk. Simply increasing your activity by a little extra each day helps the body burn more calories. When you do want to sit down to watch some television, munch on plain popcorn in place of the buttery kind. When you change habits, you reap big rewards.
3. It Balances Out
The calories that you burn along with those that you eat create the balance that makes you weigh what you weigh. Reduce the number of calories eaten and increase the number burned, and the shift should produce a weight loss if it's significant enough. If you're consuming a considerable amount more than you burn, a more radical change may be in order. Find a balanced diet that you can live with and stick to it, or just eat smaller portions and remove some offending foods.
4. Practice Saying No
Change those eating habits by dropping some offending foods and adding others in their place. Start out by removing fried foods and substitute grilled or broiled meats. The fat in the crust of the fried food makes up a large part of the calorie count. Some people peel the skin off fried chicken to reduce the calories. But that's the best part, so don't tempt yourself. Buy skinless chicken breasts and boil, grill or roast them. Watch what you add to your drinks, as well. Adding cream and sugar to coffee can increase your caloric intake enough to add those extra pounds. Try tea without sugar. To add the flavor that you seek, switch to an herbal tea.
5. Sneak in Some Hidden Exercise
Get in the habit of stretching and flexing when you can. Tighten your abdominal muscles and relax them as you sit at your desk. Stretch your legs and tighten the calves--no one is the wiser if you're at your desk. Take the stairs instead of an elevator, and don't spend hours of time and gas circling the grocery lot for the spot that is closest to the door. Instead, park far away from the building and walk.

5 Things You Need to Know About Fast Food
With the busy lifestyle of most people, it's hard to find time to focus on nutrition. But if you frequently find yourself sitting in the drive-through line at a fast food restaurant, you need to think about the long-term health consequences that fast food creates. High fat foods lead to heart disease. High levels of sodium lead to high blood pressure, heart attacks and stroke. And it all leads to obesity, which has reached epidemic proportions and is of particular concern in children.
2. Super Size Equals Super Bad
It's so easy to think, "For only pennies more, I can have extra large!" But the amount of calories in a super-sized meal comes close to what most of us should be consuming in a whole day; much less for an individual meal. Since the calories are largely made up of fat, sodium and carbs, you'll find yourself hungry again much sooner than if you'd eaten a healthier meal. It's easy to see a number of reasons why eating fast food on a regular basis leads to obesity.
3. Fast Food Addict?
Do you ever find yourself craving fast food? Research is showing changes in the brain of those who regularly eat foods high in fat and sugar. The body normally produces hormones that tell us when we are full. But the more fat and sodium we consume seems to trigger an immunity to the signals these hormones produce. Other hormone levels affected by high fat consumption seem to make us crave even more fat, and making it worse is the low energy level that a high-fat diet brings. The effect is that it becomes a vicious cycle of eating high fat foods, craving more, then not being able to work it off because all that fat is making us tired.
4. Healthier Alternatives
There are healthier alternatives to a traditional burger and fries. But let's not confuse "healthier" with "healthy." A three-piece chicken breast strip entree is "healthier" than a burger, but with 20 grams of fat and 930 milligrams of sodium, it's hardly considered healthy. And some chicken sandwiches are surprisingly higher in fat and calories than a burger. Even salads can quickly fall into an unhealthy category when you pile on a dressing loaded with fat and sugar.
5. Everything in Moderation
Grabbing a fast food meal once in awhile when you're traveling or when your schedule is tight won't have much of an effect on your health. But if fast food is a regular part of your diet, you might want to consider the health ramifications. The key is being well-informed before you walk into a fast food restaurant so you can make better choices. A little Internet search will help you to decide ahead of time what to order. A little pre-planning to allow the time to eat a healthy meal, or packing a healthy

3 Ways to Treat Placental Abruption
Placental abruption (abruptio placentae) is a possibly severe complication of pregnancy in which the placenta detaches from the uterine wall prior to delivery. If a doctor has diagnosed a mild placenta abruption, in which vaginal bleeding is minimal and/or the placenta has not completely separated from the uterine wall, he may prescribe bed rest for the mother. Usually, the mother will have bed rest at the hospital where she can receive monitoring of her and her baby's conditions. She may also receive drugs called corticosteroids, which help mature her baby's lungs in case of a premature delivery. If the mother's bleeding due to the placental abruption stops and the baby and the mother both appear stable, a doctor may allow the mother to continue bed rest at home. However, he will continue to monitor her condition with frequent visits. The goal is to allow the baby to remain in the mother's uterus until the doctor can deliver the baby at or near full term.
2. Deliver a Full Term Baby
If a doctor has diagnosed an abruption of the placenta in a pregnant woman who is at or near full term (37 weeks of pregnancy), the usual treatment is delivery. It will not matter if the woman has a diagnosis of partial placental abruption or complete placental abruption at this point. If the woman has a mild placenta abruption, and she and the baby both appear stable, a doctor will induce the woman's labor to allow for a vaginal delivery. However, if the woman has uncontrolled bleeding or a severe placental abruption, a doctor will perform a Cesarean section (C-section) to deliver the baby. In cases where the baby or the mother is in distress, a doctor will perform a C-section.
3. Immediate Delivery in Cases of Severe Placental Abruption
If a woman has a severe placental abruption, such as a complete placental abruption, the preferred treatment is delivery of the baby and the placenta. In some cases, this means that the baby will be born prematurely. Doctors will give the mother corticosteroids to mature the baby's lungs and prevent complications after birth. The mother might also receive a blood transfusion if she experiences much blood loss due to vaginal bleeding. In these cases, the doctor will deliver the baby with a Cesarean section.

How Can We Stop Smoking?
So what is it about smoking that keeps us hanging in there? I will tell you here and now that no matter what you may or may not have heard about smoking, the absolute fact of the matter remains that SMOKING IS NOT ADDICTIVE!
‘NOT ADDICTIVE!” I can almost hear howls of disbelief as I write!
I will say it again, ‘It’s not addictive!’
Here are some facts:
Smoking is not addictive in the way that crack cocaine is or methyl amphetamines are…Think about it hard, really hard.
I’d say with some certainty that ninety nine hardened smokers out of a hundred can go to bed and sleep cheerfully right through the night. If you were a crack addict, let me tell you that sleep just doesn’t come in to the picture when you need a hit.
Yes, I will admit Nicotine is a very fast acting drug that gives you a minor hit and satisfies the central pleasure seeking part of the brain but this hit only lasts an few minutes and soon wears off but does NOT give you the mind paralysing smash that that crack or heroin does that leaves you blank for days on end and wrecks you life totally.
Crack and heroin addicts will prowl through the night, in every kind of filthy weather looking for a way, any way, possible to get their next fix. Some of them will support a crack or cocaine habit that requires two to three thousand dollars a week to feed…Now, that’s what you call addiction!!
The reason I wrote this article is simple. I too smoked fairly heavily for many years and know extremely well the feeling of utter misery and depression when after some years I attempted to stop, time after time. I even tried acupuncture and even stopped going out and socialising because I couldn’t have a drink or a meal without the pressing, insistent pain of wanting a smoke afterwards.
I did manage to stop for about a year at one stage and then when I though I had it whipped, I had a cigarette and I was back into it again, with a vengeance…but ,I didn’t really know the trick and my demise was inevitable…sounds familiar?
However, something happened to me that I am eternally grateful for. I discovered a method, quite by accident, that enabled me to stop smoking, totally, forever, without any agonies of withdrawal, no drugs, no hypnosis no chemicals and without any counselling at all.
The way I stopped smoking was a minor miracle for me because I happened, by chance, one night to meet a man who worked as a research chemist in a large Laboratory for a chain of Tobacco companies. What he told me was all the really easy way around the tricks of the Tobacco Companies and how, once you know your enemy, how really easy it is to stop smoking, without drugs, patches, hypnotism or any other aids.
The facts I am about to tell are absolutely true. I am not going to try to try to scare you with all the morbid facts about the chemicals and the effects of passive smoking, the horrendous cost and the dreadful slow suicide smokers embark on and so on, but I can say that I am so convinced that this method is the simplest of all and I have to say that every one I have ever shown this method to has shrugged off cigarette smoking and never gone back to it.
I wont make you any promises that you will stop smoking if you try this method because there are many people that smoke that will constantly complain and whine they want to but really don’t have any serious intentions to at all.
However, I will say if you are serious about stopping and truly want to, you now have all the help and information in the fight to stop smoking that you will ever need right now.
If you are interested in learning more about the simplest way ever to knock over your smoking habit and put an end to the confining, miserable life of the smoker and his evil companion, the Nicotine Monster, why not visit this site and find out for yourself without giving yourself any more pain and misery! You will be in for a big surprise!!

How to Overcome Anxiety While Driving
| |
| |
If you’re feeling anxious at just the thought of driving, chances are getting on the freeway is enough to tip you into a full blown panic attack. You’re not alone and there IS help, so listen up. Anxiety while driving is way more common than you might realize. If you’re suffering with this debilitating condition, this article will give you strategies you can start implementing immediately to overcome your problem once and for all.
So, let’s get started with some tips that will alleviate the anxiety while driving one step at time.
Rationalize your Behavior and Set a Goal
Recognizing the root cause of your fear is really the first step to overcoming your problem. Driving anxiety can originate from a multitude of places.
Have you ever been in a bad car accident or experienced a traumatic experience in the car? Is your generalized anxiety giving you an overwhelming fear of death? Do you have claustrophobic tendencies and feel trapped in the confined space of a car? Have you ever known someone close to you who also suffered from this debilitating condition? Were you deeply affected by someone who died in a car accident?
These are just some of the questions you should be asking yourself when you get into the car and that terrible fear takes hold. Rationalize your feelings by recognizing their origin. Although this tactic won’t stop your driving anxiety, it will poise you to start treating it. That’s because understanding the root cause of your fear puts the problem in perspective. You recognize that it’s an irrational anxiety that can be stopped with treatment. The anxiety while driving is just an illusion that you’ve created for yourself with preconceived notions based on superstition and habitual behavior.
That’s the theory, anyway. The fear as you know is much more tangible.
After taking note of your fear and the feelings that overwhelm you, make a pact with yourself that you won’t let fear steer the direction of your behavior.
Choose to run TOWARDS what you want in life. Don’t run AWAY from what scares you.
Do you recognize the primary difference between those two scenarios? When you move TOWARDS your desires, you’re taking action. When you run AWAY from what scares you, you’re reacting (and irrationally as well). Take control and make the decision to overcome your driving anxiety. Making this commitment is the first step towards realistically attaining this goal.
Overcome the Panic
When you get in that car and the panic hits, it’s going to strike fast and furious. Have a plan and learn anxiety tactics that work. The very first sensation that will hit you is a feeling of not being able to breathe comfortably.
You’ll probably have trouble swallowing normally and taking natural breaths. You’ll feel claustrophobic. You’ll feel like you’re dying and trapped in your car. The list of symptoms goes on and on.
Learning to breathe the RIGHT way will be your best ally at plowing through the panic and building up a tolerance to the driving anxiety.
Start by inhaling deeply through your nose for 4 seconds and exhaling out your mouth for the next 4 seconds. Feel your diaphragm pushing your stomach outward as you breathe in and pushing inward as you exhale through your mouth.
Be methodical with your breaths. Don’t rush them. Hyperventilation is a common symptom when driving anxiety hits, so this exercise will take control of your physical symptoms and allow you to calm your panic away.
The other idea of breathing is to change your focus. If you feel like you can’t swallow, it’ll only feel more uncomfortable by thinking about it. Swallowing is an involuntary muscle reflex. Of course it’ll be harder to do if you’re actually concentrating on the muscles in your throat. Focus on what you can control, your breath. Let this exercise calm you and give you the satisfaction of knowing you’re doing something to actively stop your panic.
Getting Out of your Comfort Zone
When it comes to overcoming your anxiety while driving, don’t think of it as turning off a light switch to make the anxiety effectively disappear. Instead, think of the process as wearing down your sensitivity to the fear until you are numb to the experience altogether and driving becomes a mundane activity.
There are a couple of factors that come into play here. Firstly, when you’re driving, you’re usually moving away from you home – a place of comfort. This activity alone is something that may give you anxiety.
Try to make your car as comfortable as possible.
Make the temperature perfect with climate control. Have relaxing fragrances in the car if that makes the experience more enjoyable for you. Car fragrances help you take advantage of another anxiety fighting tactic – Aromatherapy.
Also, music is a great way to take attention off your fear. Play your favorite CD or ipod playlist. Enjoy yourself. Who knows – if you pamper yourself enough in your car, you may start looking forward to the longer trips.
The most common complaint about anxiety while driving is driving on the freeway. The higher speeds and increased traffic can be a huge hurdle for panic sufferers.
My recommendation is to take it slow. You can get out of your comfort zone using baby steps without pushing yourself too far. Stay in the right lane. Go a little slower than the speed limit if you need to. If you’re in the right lane, you’re not inhibiting other drivers from passing you, so don’t feel self-conscious about your speed.
Don’t Stop Here. Engage in a Proven Step by Step Program
It’s easy to learn a few tips, casually practice them and then pretend your anxiety is gone for good. The truth is, long-term success is determined by your persistence to continuously learn new ways to treat your driving anxiety and adapt to new fears that may arise.
When it comes to ending driving anxiety for good – and I mean PERMANENTLY, there’s no program out there that compares to “Driving Fear”. Driving Fear is a program I discovered about a year ago while surfing through the internet, looking for ways to end my driving anxiety naturally.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover the program helped me completely eliminate driving anxiety by transforming my fear on the road. What was REALLY cool was that the program went beyond eliminating driving fear. Using the easily transferable techniques, I was able to overcome OTHER fears even when I wasn’t in the car.
I think ANYONE can benefit from this program. I certainly did. If you suffer from driving anxiety and you’re ready to finally do something about it, start with the Driving Fear Program.
Try it out today and learn the lifesaving techniques that will stop your driving anxiety in just minutes!
High Blood Pressure Cured with Secret Nutrition Plan
Actually, I don't believe it was a secret diet at all. However, I would guess that many pharmaceutical companies do not want you to try to treat your hypertension naturally.
But if you are wondering how thousands of people cure their high blood pressure each year, this article will give you some tips to begin your alternative treatment at home.
High Blood Pressure Cured with these Tips
Billions of dollars of research has gone into curing high blood pressure. And here are some of the facts that these experts have found!
1. Try to eat at least 5 servings of vegetables a day for the fiber content and the abundance of nutrients. The fiber has been shown to flush cholesterol and plaque.
2. Fruits are also important but should be eaten less than vegetables because of the higher amounts of sugar. Try to get at least 3 servings daily.
3. Switch all of your grains to whole grains. Look for dietary fiber.
4. Try to get at least 3 servings of fish a week. And you should also be supplementing fish oil or flaxseed oil daily which has shown to lower high blood pressure.
5. Along with fish oil, you should also be taking a capsule multivitamin twice a day. The tablet forms will often not dissolve in your stomach and simply become part of your stool. Make sure you are getting gender specific multivitamins.
6. Try to reduce your fat coming from animal based products. Choose fat free dairy products. It would also be helpful to start eating nuts daily to get the right types of fats and increase your protein content.
7. Though it goes without saying, you should avoid salt and salty foods.
8. Drink plenty of water daily. Try to aim for at least 10-12 glasses per day.
9. Drinking as little as a half cup a day of green or oolong tea for a year could cut the risk of hypertension by as much as 50 percent, according to a study done in
10. Mix a teaspoon of cayenne into a glass of water and drink twice a day.

Get Rid of Aging Spots on Skin Now!
Hydroquinone is the most common ingredient in products designed to fade aging spots on skin. Its use has been banned by countries in the European Union, because of a possible cancer risk, but you will still see it listed as an ingredient in many products manufactured in the US and those sold online. There’s no reason to take the risk.
Other ingredients that are often recommended for aging skin problems include the hydroxy acids. The purpose is to listen and lift off the outermost layer of the epidermis, “revealing” a more youthful looking layer underneath. What the ingredients actually do, in most cases, is cause redness, itching and irritation. Again, there is no reason to take the risk.
The best solutions for aging skin problems are non-irritating and will not increase your risk of cancer. They may actually reduce your risk of skin cancer, because they contain antioxidants. Antioxidants can repair damage done to DNA strands that lead to cancerous formations.
There are several natural ingredients that are known to fade aging spots on skin. Those include avocado oil, Shea butter, the active form of the protein keratin, coenzyme Q10 and nut-grass root.
Nut-grass root is the strongest and is normally recommended for reducing pigmentation on a large area, rather than a single spot. It works by inhibiting melanin production, but since melanin is the skin’s natural protection against sunburn, it is best to avoid nut-grass if you spend a lot of time in the sun.
Coenzyme Q10 is recommended for a number of aging skin problems, including wrinkle reduction, sun damage and roughness. It is an antioxidant that is normally present in all of the cells of the body, but the amount of naturally occurring antioxidants in the skin’s cells decreases with age.
The active form of the protein keratin is a little more difficult to find. Only a few companies include the active form. Most companies that use the ingredient include a denaturalized form that cannot be picked up and used by the skin’s cells. Creams containing the active for can reduce brown aging spots on skin, because they stimulate the cells to produce antioxidants like glutathione and superoxide dismutase.
Shea butter has been recommended for aging skin problems for many years. But, the quality of the creams on the market varies greatly. You need to look for the highest grade of Shea butter, if you want to see the benefit.
In conclusion, avocado oil works to reduce aging spots on skin, because it contains sterolins. Some of the better nighttime creams on the market contain all of these ingredients, except for nut-grass root. If you begin using them, you should see an improvement in as little as two weeks.
Tips on Aging Skin Moisturizers
Glycerin
Glycerin is used in more expensive lotions and creams, because it is an effective moisturizer. It can improve the skin’s moisture content by about 5%. It can be derived from synthetic or vegetable sources. Either source seems to be effective, but most of us prefer the natural vegetable form, rather than the synthetic.
Avocado Oil
Avocado Oil is an excellent moisturizer, because it is very similar, on a molecular basis, to the skin’s own sebum. Sebum is the natural lubricant produced by the sebaceous glands within the skin’s layers.
Research has shown that avocado oil contains compounds called sterolins that can help reduce age spots. It has also been shown to stimulate the production of collagen, something that normally slows down with age.
Avocado oil is typically found in nighttime aging skin moisturizers for the face. Most people feel that it is a little too heavy for used during the daytime, although it does not cause greasiness or clog the pores.
Coenzyme Q10
Several studies have shown that coenzyme Q10 is effective for reversing wrinkles and roughness caused by sun damage. It is becoming a more common ingredient for anti-aging products of all kinds, but most companies don’t include enough of it. So, they aren’t always effective.
As far as aging skin moisturizers go, coenzyme Q10 has been shown to improve moisture by about 30% over the course of six weeks. It is assumed that all of these benefits are due to the antioxidant activity of COQ10. It is known to repair damage done to cellular DNA by free radical molecules. Dermatologists have said that the molecular damage done by free radicals over the course of a person’s life are the causes of wrinkling, sagging and all of the signs of age.
Shea Butter
Shea butter’s molecular composition is nearly identical to that of the skin’s own sebum, which makes it one of the most effective moisturizing ingredients in the world. The only problem is that many companies use lower grades or add other ingredients that interfere with its beneficial effects.
Aging skin moisturizers that contain a high grade of Shea butter are proven to soften and smooth over the course of four to six weeks. The ingredient is most often found in nighttime creams.
Functional Keratin
Keratin is a protein found in all of the skin’s outer cells. Functional keratin is a form that can be used by our cells. Most forms are denaturalized. So, they cannot be absorbed into the cells.
In conclusion, one of the functions the keratin performs is to absorb water or moisture. Aging skin moisturizers containing function keratin have been shown to improve the skin’s moisture content by over 20% after the very first use. So, now you know about the effective ingredients that are available. Say good bye to dryness forever.

How to Cure Type 2 Diabetes - A Simple Plan of Exercise and Dieting
Take Charge of Your Health – Keep Track of Everything
Unwanted Weight: Get Rid of it For Good!
Maintaining the results is not so easy if you don’t know what to do. You may fall prey to the crazy ads and claims that feed off your emotions and not upon your ability to rationalize and determine for yourself what makes sense and what doesn’t.
What saddens me is not the tons of money being lost but the loss of self respect, confidence, and ability to know what is best for yourself in the perpetual effort to “lose weight now.”
As a lifestyle fitness coach, I know how important it is for you to maintain a healthy weight. And as a woman, I know how important it is to feel confident and sexy within yourself, how your appearance reflects who you really are. To "stop hiding and bodaciously express yourself as if you were living your nail color." (I love that quote by Mary Foley)
So how are you going to find that phantom puzzle piece and finally place it in your weight loss/fitness puzzle to achieve your bodacious figure?
I have the solution!
First, it is important that you realize that doing just one thing rarely works for achieving lasting weight loss results. It usually takes a combined effort of putting just the right puzzle pieces in place to get rid of unwanted weight and live a healthy, joyful lifestyle. This isn’t rocket science, you probably familiar with a few of these but all you need is some tweaking.
* A weight loss program needs to combine supportive mindful nutrition, focused daily exercise, a strong mental foundation, and an inner sparkle that ignites your motivation.
Second, is something that most women rarely do. Believe it will happen! When I interview women who have lost 50, 60, 80 pounds there is one common factor I see. They started believing in themselves, and visualizing themselves as a fitter, healthier, and happier woman. Taking one pound at a time and celebrating their successes.
* Visualize yourself doing the things you love as the new you. Start taking positive action that reflects who you really are. Prevent yourself getting caught up in guilt, discouragement, worry, and frustration. This always sabotages your efforts.
Third, watch your language! “We are of what we speak.” If you keeping speaking about how fat you are, you subconsciously sabotage your efforts and keep yourself fat. I know…doesn’t that sound absolutely ridiculous! But never underestimate the power of your thoughts, language and subconscious mind. If you keep telling yourself how much you hate your fat thighs you must change your language. Start expressing gratitude for all your thighs have done for you. “My thighs are getting stronger and toner through my exercise efforts. They allow me to glide effortlessly through the shopping mall or while I cross country ski and they help me lift my groceries out of the mini van.”
* Switch your thinking so that the language comes through in a more positive, uplifting compassionate way. Do this every day in conversation and inner self talk.
Fourth, look at your past diets and how they effected you not only physically but also emotionally and spiritually. Most diets cause a backlash of intense emotions that drive women to binge after depriving themselves of what society calls “bad food.” Diets cause a complete disconnection to the body and mind.
A person learns a mindless form of eating through exposure to one diet after another. Diets alone have taught us not to live in the now but always look into the future. As you diet, you look forward to the time when you can eat normally again. Diets become an outside source of what to eat, when to eat, and how much. Mindful eating on the other hand has been proven to have an 85% success rate because you learn to honor your hunger and reconnect body and mind to eat when hungry until satisfied. This is normal eating. Watch any two year old eat; they will leave a half of an Oreo cookie on the counter and be totally content with one bite. How about you?
* Reconnect your body and mind with food and listen to your inner biological cues for hunger and satisfaction. Enjoy the chocolate chip cookie; taste it, smell it, swish it around in your mouth and enjoy the pleasure and feeling of it go down your throat. You just may notice that a couple bites are all you need.

Simple Steps To Sexy Skin
Nothing is sexier than healthy skin. Perhaps this is because everything that enhances the appearance (makeup, clothes) eventually has to be removed – that is, except skin: which is probably why so many people spend so much on skin care products. These products command a huge share of the amount spent on personal care and cosmetics. Spending for skin cosmetic procedures (like Dermabrasion and Botox) came to almost $2 billion in the past years.
Believe it or not, you still can have great skin without spending a great amount of money on lotions, moisturizers and fancy treatments like chemical peels. All you need is some common sense, a little discipline and a lot of self-love.
- Hydrate, Hydrate And Hydrate Some More.
There is a reason why ¾ of your body is made up of water. Most of your organs (your skin included) need water to be able to function normally. So help your body by drinking 8 or more glasses of water a day (preferably 10). Sodas, tea and coffee do not count because they actually cause dehydration.
- Keep Clean.
Taking regular baths or showers and keeping your skin clean and fresh will give you that glow and provide exfoliation and blood circulation. Be careful not to over-scrub, though, as it forces premature skin to the surface. It may look good at first but the skin will age and become dull sooner.
- Protect Your Skin And Allow It To Rest.
Remember that your skin is the largest organ of your body: it is that part of the body that is most exposed to the elements, including harmful radiation from the sun. To combat this, stay away from sunlight during the hours of 10am to 3pm and wear sunscreen when going outdoors.
With all that stress, you should allow your skin (and in essence, your entire body) the time it needs to recover and rebuild damaged cells in preparation for the following day.
- Avoid Smoking And Drinking.
Next to harmful UV rays, cigarettes and alcohol are the worst culprits of stealing your skin’s healthy youthful look. They add toxins to a body and shows not only on your skin but in the rest of your body as well.
Having great skin need not be expensive, you just need to be smart and practical. In no time, your skin will get back that sexy glow.

How Stress Affects Your Immune System
Have you ever noticed that you tend to get sick more often when you're stressed out? Scientists have noticed this connection for a long time, but until recently they couldn't explain it. While a big project at work or the loss of a loved one isn't going to give you the flu, it can decrease the functioning of your immune system and make you more susceptible to the flu and other infections.
It may surprise you, but short term stress actually boosts the immune system. Increased immune functioning is associated with the "fight or flight" response related to short term stress you know will end. This is because our body is still trying to adapt to beat the stressor instead of just letting the stress bear down. The problem with this is that a majority of our stress is continual over a long period of time.
Long term stress is what actually decreases our immune functioning. The worst kind of stress is not only long term, but stress we think we can't control or see an end to. For example, while meeting a deadline at work may cause a decrease in our immune functioning; it's probably not as bad as stress caused by a debilitating accident. When we think the stressor is beyond our control and may never stop, our body feels it can't cope with the stress and it begins to take its toll. This kind of stress causes a drop in almost all immune functioning.
For regular, long term stressors, the decrease in immune functioning becomes greater with time. This means even if you feel you are in a position of control, long term stress such as a high power job, can build up and gradually decrease your disease fighting abilities.
Another important factor to consider when looking at the immune system and stress is that the decrease in immune system functioning is greater for people who are elderly or already sick. This is likely why older people who are severely injured or have recently lost a loved one are much more likely to die within a year than those who haven't had these circumstances.
You may think, "Well, I'll drop my stress level and I'll be fine". However, studies have show that traumatic events can stick with us and affect our immune system long after the stressor is gone. If a person was in an accident, was attacked, or experienced a traumatic loss, they can show decreased immunities years later. The best way to increase immunities in this case is to undergo treatment for the trauma.
In addition to causing a decrease in immune system functioning, stress can also make you more susceptible to other long term diseases, such as cardiovascular disease. If you want to maintain a healthy lifestyle you should include activities and a proper diet that promote a less stressful lifestyle.
